Job: *Website Deployment and Operations Engineer (WDOE)*

*Trusera* is an exciting new web- based product that is focused on helping
people make actionable health choices based on the experiences of others.
*Job Profile*
Trusera is looking for a Website Deployment and Operations Engineer to help
manage our current web site and proactively plan for a large scale
deployment in the near future.
The Website Deployment and Operations Engineer (WDOE), will be the primary
engineer responsible for modification and extension of our current Ruby on
Rails deployment infrastructure to support seamless deployment of software
and content to multiple online systems.
The WDOE will be responsible for configuring databases for backup and
fail-over; and evaluating and recommending deployment options and vendors
for our systems as we scale and grow the website.
Operational responsibilities will cover the day-to-day monitoring of the
query logs and error logs; reporting performance and availability metrics
to ensure we are giving our customers a quality experience.
*Key Responsibilities:*
· Evaluate current Ruby On Rails Deployment scripts and
modify them for scaling
· Test and evaluate performance of current
system deployment options and decide what should be used. (In-House,
Rackspace, EC2, local co-location)
· Performance analysis of baseline application
and production performance monitoring, alarming and paging as appropriate.
· Automation of server provisioning/capacity planning and
site maintenance tasks.
· Providing system high availability, redundancy, backup and
disaster recover plans
· Log analysis/storage mechanisms for monitoring and operational
tasks
· Design, installation and testing of network related services and
hardware
· Implementation of monitoring and management systems for the
network
· Build and deploy hardware and systems
· Development document and implementation of the company's security
strategy and policies
*Daily snapshot *
60% Development (Performance, deployment, monitoring)
20% Communication (Documentation, presentation, consulting, debugging)
20% Delivery (QA, Testing, Anything else needed for launch)
*Current Technical Environment:*
Linux, Mac OS X MySql, Ruby on Rails,
*Job Qualifications
** *Previous Intelligent 24x7 monitoring so that our teams are notified in a
timely fashion of important issues
· Working knowledge of Object Oriented Programming: Ruby on Rails
· Experience in a Web Services environment is required
· Ability to develop software Perl/Ruby/Capistrano
· Prior experience working on large scaling web applications
· Successful candidates will have excellent problem solving
abilities, judgment in prioritization
· Proven results oriented person
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to handle multiple competing priorities
· Have strong communication skills, and be calm in the face
of fast-moving and hectic environments
· A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
· CISCO networking certifications a strong plus
