The Check, Connect, & Expect project (CC&E), a grant funded project 
located at the Experimental Education Unit, College of Education, is 
seeking an staff assistant with programming experience and good work 
habits for 15-19 hours per week, beginning immediately. The position is 
currently funded from April through September, 2007. Future funding is 
contingent upon grant funding.

Job Requirements Include:
1. Web and database programming with Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL,
    and possibly some work with LAMP.
2. Familiarity with Subversion and Mercurial is a plus.
3. XHTML, CSS, and light JavaScript experience is mandatory.
4. In the absence of Ruby on Rails experience, some knowledge of
    OOP and MVC2 architectures is desired; PHP, Python, ASP, or
    Perl and MySQL experience is also helpful.
5. Must be able to start immediately and WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT PERSON.

Job Responsibilities:
This person will work under the direct supervision of the project's 
Technology Coordinator. The Technology Coordinator is responsible for 
all aspects of the project's website development, which includes daily 
data entry into a web-based server that charts student performance in 
public schools. The Assistant will help the Tech. Coordinator with the 
maintenance and refinement of all aspects of this website. The website 
currently serves about 30 schools, although may grow to many more 
schools in the next 6 months.

Pay: The pay range for the position is $12-15 per hour based on 
experience and knowledge of programs listed above.
