Here's another one I got contacted about but am deferring on:
We're looking for a Ruby programmer who is intimately familiar with
Ruby on Rails and who has practical web application design and
implementation experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A solid Ruby background and have participated in the design and
coding of several RoR applications.
- Experience using Ruby in non RoR situations (having written
libraries, or command line utilities).
- Familiarity with Prototype and general Javascript development.
- Basic understanding of Linux server environments (especially Debian/
Ubuntu).
- Experience with Subversion and working in team development situations.
- A deep yearning for bleeding edge technology and web innovations.
You don't need to be all these things, but that's our sketch for what
we're looking for.
Our company, Helmets to Hardhats, helps transitioning military
personel find jobs in the building and construction trades. Our
flagship website, helmetstohardhats.org, is in the final stages of a
complete rewrite using RoR. Our development team currently consists
of two young hipsters.
So what will *I* be doing, you may ask? Let me tell you. The rewrite
is scheduled to be "completed" in a month. The future looks to hold
more applications of this core technology for other trades, as well
as exciting new projects. We are constantly innovating, learning, and
enjoying the Ruby and Rails community. We look forward to sharing our
excitement with a new programmer!
Job location is Carlsbad, CA
Compensation: Depends on experience. We offer competitive salary and
benefits.
No recruiters, please.
