I helped host http://www.columbusrb.com/ at Nationwide Insurance back in Columbus. We had 40 every month for the more formal talks.
Pizza probably helped, but good planning, and consistent speakers were cool too. So, count me on on helping escort/host for an Amazon location if that's what we decide.

Things might be better now - I suspect there's more Ruby expertise around these days.
I'd sign up to do a short talk on either Ruby + asterisk or Ruby + Hadoop/Solr.
