Apparently I didn't make myself clear either. I said I was handling
it. I handled it. Professionally. Promptly. Well.

At that point, I think the matter should be left to die down on its
own, not to stir the coals and get the issue dragged out long past
what is necessary.

Did you ever consider that there might have been as few responses as
there were because there is enough back-channel communication that
the active members of the group know things are being handled?

It was being handled long before you decided to chime in the first
time chastising the group as a whole for "condoning" this behavior.
Given that NOBODY condoned the behavior on or off the list before you
chimed in, I don't even see where you were coming from. It was
handled and _done_ with (except my stupid mistake letting Daevid's
rather poor apologies through the moderation gate) well before you
decided to stir the hornets nest a second time. And to what effect?
To chastise us that we weren't reactionary to your level of approval?
Tough. I personally prefer not to give extra time and attention to
the asshats of the world and instead spend it on improving the state
of our group. I've done a pretty damn good job keeping the drama in
our group to a minimum.

Because we didn't all stand up and scream at the top of our lungs
doesn't make us racist, sexist, or homophobes. Turning around and
calling us racist, sexist, and homophobes does nothing to help the
situation.

Until today, the list was only moderated insofar as to prove that you
weren't a clever spam bot. But because of your incendiary comments,
I've turned on the global moderation mode in mailman. Thanks. I
appreciate being put into this position by your actions. The global
moderation bit will be cleared after this shitstorm is behind us.
