A few things to do:

1) Turn on core dumps in your OS.  After it crashes, find the core file, open with gdb.  Type backtrace.
2) Run mongrel manually from withing gdb.  When it crashes.  Type backtrace.
3) Send the backtrace to ImageScience and me.

That should do it.
