[Ruby] working with excel spreadsheets (.xls) in ruby/rails

thanks a lot. this looks a lot closer to what i want to do. i thought  
i already looked at ParseExcel, but i guess not. or i looked at  
something else called ParseExcel or... i don't know. thanks, though.  
this looks good for me.
