[Ruby] Francis Hwang in Seattle

Ruby luminary Francis Hwang will be in Seattle next Tuesday, Sept 26  
for the inaugural Topfunky Red Rover Ruby Speakers Series.

He will be speaking about "The API Construction Kit."

The exact venue is yet to be determined. Tell all your friends and  
get ready for a special evening!

The API construction kit

Ruby offers a lot of tools--some easy, some advanced--for programmers  
to construct elegant APIs for reuse, whether that reuse is personal,  
confined within a single company, or for public consumption via an  
open source library or framework. I'll go over method_missing,  
const_missing, instance_eval, Module.included, and other tools in the  
Rubyist toolbelt that make this work possible. This will be a broad  
survey including real-world examples, with an eye towards elegance,  
practicality, shedding light on pitfalls, and workarounds.

The Topfunky Red Rover Ruby Speakers Series is funded by the ill- 
gotten gains acquired by the Topfunky Corporation resulting from  
hosting referrals. It will hopefully provide the funds to host two or  
three Rubyists in Seattle for special lectures over the coming year.
