I hate doing things manually... I much prefer to automate. You should too, especially as an admin. There is too much to do and you don't have time not to automate things. Otherwise you just keep swarmed forever. Cheat a little, steal my scripts. It might save you an hour or more a week. Then use that hour to automate more things (and share them with me!) to make more time.
Once you get that hour a week, you can do a lot with it to make more time. Once you get more time, you are ahead of the game. Sure, things will blow up or break, and that is to be expected, but the time you give yourself here means that reacting to real priorities won't backlog you in your normal duties.
I spend 5-10 minutes a day reading email from my cronjobs and, when necessary, reacting to them. Almost everything I do is automated, or automatable and on my list. You should work the same way, it is better. You'll be happier, healthier, and get more dates.
